The whirlwind otherwise known as Thanksgiving has passed and we are thrown, head first, into the Holiday season.
I feel prepared... as almost all of the gifts purchased are already wrapped and under the tree. I have a much lighter shipping bill this year - as I am traveling to see my family for Christmas and will be taking those gifts with me when I go. YAY! I only have a few little items left to purchase... what is wrong with me?! Normally this time of year is hectic and I'm scrambling around in a vain attempt to get gifts purchased, wrapped, packaged and shipped.... LOL. (It really is nice to not have to worry about all of that this year! I might have ot make this a habit.)
I made my very first 95% homemade apple pie last night. I say 95% because I cheated and used a store bought crust. But otherwise, I cut the apples... made the sauce... cooked everything myself and made it into a pie that tastes very scrumptious. I also accomplished making my very first completely homemade cookies over the weekend... yay me! I'm becoming even more domestic!! (The cookies are called Dreamsicle cookies... they need some recipe tweeking, but they are really good.)
What else happened over the weekend... not much, really. We finally got the remainder of the outside decorations put up... I have a couple of things left inside, but for the most part the house can be considered prepared for the holiday season. Of course, as Murphy's Law states, I ran out to purchase a second set of large lights for the big tree because I couldn't seem to find the ones that I thought I purchased last year. I got the lights out... put them on the tree and proceeded to decorate the tree... and, lo and behold, when I opened the garland box to get the garland out, I found not one; but two of the sets of those large globey lights. Oops. Oh well... at least an effort can be made to store them together this year and we will know where all of them are next year when the time to decorate comes sneaking up on us. :o)
I need a couple of days off to recoup from the whirlwind holiday known as Thanksgiving. LOL.

A little bit different... maybe not so much.
So many things change so fast... I've settled to hold on tight and enjoy the ride!
