Now that I have been going strong on my workouts - at least getting a 30-45 minute workout in each night 5-6 times a week - I am uprooting my diet and trying to make better choices.
Breakfast: 250-300 calories
Lunch: 250-300 calories
Dinner: 500-550 calories
Snacks: no more than 300 calories in a day
This has been an interesting journey for me. My next major undertaking is going to be cleaning out the pantry in a couple of weeks. It isn't bad right now, but I really need to rethink the organization in that cabinet; and make it a little bit more user/healthy diet friendly.
I have found that my husband likes certain items in his lunch. He has had them in the lunch bag since he was a child, so it's not something I feel comfortable asking him to give up. Luckily, most of the treats he likes are really not my style of treat - so I do a good job of staying out of them (he gets his own section of the cabinet, I replenish it when needed, and that's about as far as it goes for me). As for the other shelves, I just need to get them a little more organized so they aren't as discombobulated when trying to find things. That should only take some careful thought and a little bit of reorganizing.
While we are currently in the process of starting our family - so a very obvious obstacle could present itself soon... but I do intend on trying to keep my diet as healthy as possible... and carrying that through pregnancy so that the healthy habits make it easier to shave off any remaining pounds after a new addition arrives.
