Snow in October

So, I woke up this morning to the sound of howling winds. I didn't really think much of it, until I remembered the effect wind had on my halloween "graveyard" the last time it got windy. I rapidly walked to the kitchen and looked out the window... almost knowing what I would see.

My fears were confirmed; all of my little headstones and two of my ghosts were long gone. Damnit! When I say long gone... I mean as in never to be found. We drove around... they are nowhere in the neighborhood. So there we have it... about $45 in wasted cash.

So, what does one do in such a situation? I went out and purchased some more headstones and ghosts. We had managed to find 2 of the old ones off to the side of the house caught on the fence. But I went and bought 3 more of the cheap styrofoam ones (we are going to get some ply wood and paint and fix them before putting them back out)... and then I went to Target and discovered two that I loved that are nice and heavy. I love them so much that I am hoping that we can stop there on Friday and get a couple more.

I will be holding off on putting my little graveyard back up until later this week - I don't want to suffer the same losses as this time again. Once I get it put back up, I will take pictures.

Aww that's sad! The lengths we will go to to restore a graveyard. Darn that wind!

A little bit different... maybe not so much.

So many things change so fast... I've settled to hold on tight and enjoy the ride!
