Lent

So, it's Lent once again. (Boy did this one sneak up on us!!!)
What does this mean?

1. Give up meat on Fridays.
    Many people fast on Friday. For my family, the fast meant we gave up meat. The rules of the game
    changed along the way, but we always stuck with fish on Friday.
2. Lenten promise (what are you giving up?)
    This year, I am not really focusing on giving up anything for Lent. Mostly because this becomes
    more like a New Year's resolution - I forget about it, or just plain ignore it...and fail. Instead of
    trying to focus on giving something up, I am focusing on teaching my boys about the meaning of
    Lent...and why it is celebrated.
3. Easter is on its way.

I want Easter to be so much more to my boys than another day you get some candy and gifts. I want them to understand there is more to Easter than material things. So I search Pinterest for ideas. I search the internet to see if there are cute, age appropriate ideas for their interest levels.

So far, I have found some pretty cute ideas. This mama has some things to get this weekend.
