“We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. … No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: Life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”
“You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be,” Dolce said. “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.”
Gabbana concurred, adding, “The family is not a fad. In it there is a supernatural sense of belonging.”
See what I mean by diarrhea?
Here is my take on it...
Growing up, I would never have dreamed that I would be faced with complications when it came to conception. I would never have dreamed we'd have to turn to a doctor for assistance. I would never have dreamed we'd have to go through IVF in order to fulfill our dreams of raising our own biological children.
But, we were thrown a curve ball when it came to conception. It was what they call male factor complications. So, we turned to reproductive science for assistance in fulfilling our dreams.
The journey wasn't always easy. I had to undergo shots of various types for months. Up to three different shots a day. I had to undergo loads of invasive doctor's appointments. Then, we had to undergo a retrieval procedure and an agonizing wait to see if anything would come of the fertilization. After that process, came the transfer. Then another agonizing wait to see if it would be successful.
There were no discussions about desires when it came to eye color, hair color, or any of that. There were no catalogs. There was just ourselves and our medical team working together to move forward.
The result was two of the most amazing, beautiful, magical, intelligent, miraculous little boys I have ever seen. They are true miracles. They are ours.
If you look at them, you see two precocious little boys with an insatiable appetite for adventure. They run, jump, play, and do things little boys do that often include getting dirty and making loads of noise. They look like any other child. As a matter of fact, if I didn't tell you they were the result of ivf, I doubt you'd even be able to tell - because they are no different than any other child.
So, D&G... take your opinions and shove them. I now have reasons other than simply price to avoid your clothing and accessories like the plague. You are jerks.
Shame on you for being so heartless and brazen as to suggest that the only people who deserve to be parents are those who can conceive naturally - it isn't now, nor will it ever be, your place to judge.
Shame on you for demeaning others for their means of realizing their dreams... because I guarantee you that, if you ask most people who have complications with conception, they would rather have done things traditionally, but they had to act on the cards they were dealt.
Shame on you for belittling others just because their methods don't fit with your ideals.
Shame on you for trying to cheapen the existence of miracles. Because, no matter how a child came into this world, they are a miracle.
