I have a friend's baby shower to attend Saturday. I searched for some of the items on her registry and was unable to find anything in the list. So... the next best option... make a baby blanket that is personalized and buy some outfits to go with it.
I purchased a blanket kit at first. I didn't like that the kit was focused on frogs... so I purchased some cute fabric that had a safari theme (it's for a little boy). Got home and didn't really like a few of the elements...so back to the fabric store I went - and purchased some jungle green fabric and yellow flannel (the flannel was replacing some flannel squares that were polka dotted and, in my opinion, clashed a bit with the safari theme fabric.)
So I got it pieced and sewn together... and put the backing on it last night... to find that I have (yet again) misplaced my quilt finishing needle. So, I will have to swing by the craft store tonight on the way home to get the finishing needle so I can put the final finishing touches on the blanket tonight and wrap the gift up for the party tomorrow.

A little bit different... maybe not so much.
