Seriously, I can't make this stuff up... December 17, 2009

It's been one of those mornings already!

Yesterday, I told one of my supervisors I would try to be here early this am... perhaps I set myself up for disaster... read on to find out how!!

Of course, due to the late afternoon approach yesterday, I didn't commit to an exact time, I simply stated I would give my best effort to be here early. (Which they have grown to learn means I will usually get here between 7:30 and 8a). Well... enter all sorts of fun chaos this morning.

I got up and showered, was ready to go by 6:55. I went out to the living room to check on Apollo and couldn't find him, so I checked the basement... where I found the trash can in Rob's office turned over, pulled to the center of the office and ransacked. Last night, I had tossed several of Apollo's older cookies (probably a couple of dozen at least since we really don't give him that many anymore). I had the intention of pulling the bag this morning and throwing it out.

In Rob's office, there were cookie crumbs everywhere. So, I righted the can and vacuumed Rob's office. Then I heard the nice sound of Apollo wretching in the foyer. Yay... he threw up the cookies he'd just eaten... all over the rug
the shoes sit on and his bedding. So I coaxed him outside for some fresh air and proceeded to clean the mess.

Fine. We are still on track to get to work just after 8am. We inhale breakfast, and I grab the item I made for the potluck (today)... and we leave. We see the alert sign lit up on the highway "Crash ahead, two right lanes of traffic blocked." Joy! (Seriously, can anything else possibly go wrong this morning???)

Just beyond the mall exit, there is a crash which appears to involve a pick up truck (which is facing south bound
in the middle north bound lane), an suv-type vehicle and some sort of MNdot vehicle (couldn't tell if it was a plow or a
sand truck with all the pretty light bar action going on.) By the time we exit the highway and circumvent the traffic
by taking a new route, it's 8:25 and I've completely missed getting here early. GRRRR!!!

Then, to top things off, I read the sign about the potluck and the stupid thing is tomorrow, not today! Thank goodness
we have freezers... I made a Spanish tortilla... hopefully it won't taste totally nasty after being frozen today.
