The great furniture moving project...

After a weekend of memorial benefits and running to and fro, we had a little bit of time last night to work on the reorganization of our furniture. While dinner was making, I decided to reorganize the closet in the spare bedroom upstairs to accommodate the small chest of drawers that had been situated out in the room prior. (I figure, as we are planning on eventually starting a family this year, it would come in handy at some point.)

After spending some time getting pieces of scrap-booking projects and sewing projects out of a couple of the drawers, we moved the dresser and bureau from the downstairs guest bedroom to the upstairs guest bedroom. That didn’t take as long as I’d originally expected.

I took a bookshelf out of the room, but I’m not entirely certain if it will stay out. I might decide to remove the crates of books in there and put the shelves in the closet. We’ll see how ambitious I get tonight. (I am pretty sure I will be in that closet again soon doing more organizing... but we have more furniture to move tonight, so we'll see when I’ll get the opportunity.)

Tonight's task includes cleaning out the drawers in both of our dressers and moving the long dresser downstairs. We are contemplating also moving the armoire... but we'll have to evaluate how heavy it is first. I'm secretly hoping it won't be as heavy as we originally thought it was and we'll be able to move it downstairs without incident to save us time tomorrow.

We also need to get our sofa from upstairs moved downstairs with its recliner friend... and we are going to move the downstairs set up to the upstairs for the time being (we want to sell it... eventually.)
