Poor pooch

Apollo, our "almost" 5-year-old Golden Retriever, has not been himself lately. My husband called the vet this morning, as he started a mild cough last night and has been bothering the side of his head again (which is usually his M.O. when he has an ear infection.) Of course, the vet wanted to see him.

So, he got to visit one of his favorite people... and we found out that he has the mother of all cavities in his tooth. They cleaned the tooth out, and found out it's also impacted and infected (thus explaining all of his odd behaviors). Of course, the anesthesiologist wasn't there today - so he will go back Monday to get the tooth fixed. In the mean time, he gets pain killers and antibiotics to help him through the weekend.

I hate it when my dog is suffering and there isn't much I can do for him.

I am thankful this is something that can be fixed... and not something that we have to worry about spreading to the kitten.

A little bit different... maybe not so much.

So many things change so fast... I've settled to hold on tight and enjoy the ride!
